Creating Strong Bonds with Thermoplastics: Material Compatibility Matters   When it comes to joining thermoplastic parts, achieving a strong and lasting bond is one of the crucial factors: chemical compatibility. The materials need to be fundamentally compatible to form a secure connection. Merely melting them at the same temperature isn’t enough. Even if two materials melt at the same temperature, they may not form a molecular bond if they’re not chemically compatible. For instance, polypropylene and polyethylene share similar appearances and many physical properties as semi-crystalline materials. However, they lack chemical compatibility, preventing them from bonding to each other through welding. In many cases, it’s essential to weld similar materials together, like joining ABS to ABS. Referring to the above chart we can see that ABS is Fully Compatible with materials like ABS, ABS/PC, and PMMA. Whereas ABS may or may not be compatible with PS-GP, PS-HI, PVC-U, and SAN-NAS...

The Task To design an ultrasonic plastic welding system to weld the tail light assembly. For more information The Solution In this case, the task was completed by designing a system having a special quick tool changing mechanism (cassette type), a winder-unwinder arrangement to locate the item which is to be welded and a dedicated horn-fixture arrangement to weld the tail light assembly. The Advantages Very short tool change over time Short cycle time Strong welds No damage cause to the surface finish Visit our Website

ULTRASONIC CLEANING IMPROVES THE PERFORMANCE OF MOULDS

The Task To design an ultrasonic cleaning system for cleaning contaminated mould tools. Over the time stubborn contaminant's buildup on the surface as well as in the intricacies of the moulds resulting in reduced performance. Know more about Ultrasonic Cleaning Machine The Solution In this case, the challenge was successfully completed by designing a 2-chamber ultrasonic cleaning system. Stage-1 is for ultrasonic cleaning with a filtration unit followed by stage-2 for ultrasonic rinsing. The effective tank capacity is 165 litres and the cycle time is 10-60 minutes. The Advantages Non-Abrasive process Eliminates manual labor Cost-Saving in mould maintenance Short cycle time Visit our Website
